Comments about (sub)species: Common in aviculture. Often mistaken for the Mexican Red-head Amazon. The easiest distinction between the two in the lilac- crown has a dark cere while the mexican red-headed has a light colored cere. I have been able to find very little on the pet quality of this Amazon. Please email me if you have information you would like to provide. |
